Salutations and WASSUP?
I'm new..er around here. I'm a starter to Shogi. I originally got the Idea from my friend 105980, whom you all may or may not know. He always used to talk about Shogi, and He played AdminJirachi sometimes. So I got interested and wanted to know what the game is, so I asked him. He said "It's like a Chinese version of Chess." I said," I love chess! Can you teach me how to play?" He said, "go here, I'll meet you there" then he posted the link here. So I went there and 105 was having chat with Hirohiigo, I didn't want to interrupt their conversation, So I just joined in. I got impatient after awile and I said, "105, aren't you supposed to be teaching me how to play?" "Go down to Introduction to Shogi, and read that" I went down and started to read, but it was all just mush in my head. So I looked up videos on how to play shogi on Youtube. I found some videos, and I'm still watching them. But I thought that Shogi would be an awesome opportunity to have fun, so I made an account. And that's my story. Sorry if it's too long

Re: Salutations and WASSUP?
Welcome to the 81-Square Universe, Bojangle!
If you ever want me to play a teaching game with you, just ask me if you see me in the chat and, if I'm not busy, I probably will.
And yes, as 105 says, shogi is Japanese. Chinese chess is called Xiangqi (pronounced Shang-Chi).
