How did you get to play shogi?

This might be interesting, to know, how did you all guys get to this game. I've seen a shogi presentation at some anime convention and it simply amazed me. What about you?

After i found it on kurnik i knew it will be game for me

I was playing chess with crazysjd89 one day and he jokingly asked if I wanted to play Taikyoku Shogi. Which led to me asking him about shogi, and he taught me the rules and we started playing.

A few days later he showed me Hidetchi's video about two pawns to show me the pro clip (which spawned an ongoing inside joke between us), and that got me hooked on Hidetchi's videos, which in turn led me to become obsessed with shogi.
