Hello shogi fans
Hi, I figured I might as well make a post here. I recently began learning shogi and it seems like a great game. I got used to the upside down kanji quicker than I expected
I also wanted to thank the friendly players I have met here and especially the Japanese players who have made shogi videos and websites in English.

Upside down kanji... Hmm... So you learned that faster than rightside up?

Welcome to the 81 Square Universe, Palomedes!
Learning the kanji on the pieces wasn't that hard for me because I can already speak and read a little bit of Japanese. So I only had to learn a few new kanji (like the rook, lance, and knight) in order to memorize them all.
